Physician-led, low-dose ketamine therapy for treatment resistant depression — offered in a safe, supportive clinical environment in Vancouver.
Reset your mind
Euthyma is a zero profit, physician-led, social enterprise staffed by dedicated health care workers and volunteers committed to providing evidence-based ketamine treatments for severe depression.
Our mission is to reduce financial barriers to accessing ketamine therapy by running on an efficient, zero-profit model. Our motivation is to save lives and decrease the personal and societal burden of depression.
Euthyma was created for people who have treatment resistant depression, which is defined as depression that persists after multiple andequate antidepressant trials without a meaningful response. We offer medically supervised, low-dose ketamine therapy in a calm, welcoming clinic environment.
01
Qualifying for the Program
We start with a thorough intake process. We examine your medical history and your personal history to determine whether ketamine therapy is right for you. This is an important step, as Ketamine has only been shown to effective in certain populations with certain conditions.
02
Personalized Treatment Plan
Treatments are based on physician assessment and a structured framework we have developed at Euthyma. The medical director and team will determine the appropriate dose for you based on your medic history, biometrics, and how you respond to each treatment session.
03
In-Clinic Sessions
Sessions are conducted in our clinic under close medical supervision. You'll be in a comfortable, private or small group setting - safe, observed, and supported throughout.
Experienced Physicians. Genuine Care.
Every member of our team brings both medical expertise and a deep commitment to patient wellbeing.

Dr. Aron Heroux founded Euthyma after witnessing firsthand the barriers many people face when seeking mental health treatment beyond traditional antidepressants. Driven by a commitment to accessible, patient-centered care and a personal connection to mental health, he created Euthyma to expand access to innovative depression treatments.
Dr. Aron has worked across multiple medical specialties and has over a decade of experience using ketamine in both emergency and outpatient settings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led large healthcare and emergency response teams serving Indigenous communities throughout British Columbia. He has also worked as a critical care flight physician with experience in global medical transport and is an Associate Clinical Professor at University of British Columbia, where he earned his medical degree.
For Dr. Aron, Euthyma represents more than a healthcare program - it is a mission to reduce barriers to care and ensure patients have access to compassionate, evidence-based mental health treatment.

Our Zero-Profit Model
Euthyma was created as a zero-profit initiative. In other words, all proceeds are used to support the program, pay staff wages at standard market rates, and to fund cost effective awareness campaigns.
This means that Euthyma either runs profit neutral or at a loss. Dr. Aron Heroux, the sole owner and medical director, takes no salary, he personally funds the program, and donates his time without compensation. Staff do not derive any perks other than the occasional team dinner.
We strive to run a lean model so that every dollar that Euthyma takes in is spent as effectively as possible to provide medical ketamine treatment at the lowest possible barrier.
To show our commitment to transparency, Euthyma will publish the results of an external audit annually.
Treatment at the Lowest Cost Possible
At Euthyma, our mission is to provide ketamine therapy for as low a cost as possible to appropriate patients.
Our treatment program runs for eight weeks and includes eight treatment sessions. Our current price point is $1,200 CAD before tax for all eight sessions.
Seats in this program are limited, and full payment is required on confirmation of admission into the program to ensure that we can recapture out costs and continue providing treatments to our current and future patients,
Jordan explains that while Euthyma focuses purely on providing low-cost ketamine therapy, they highly encourage patients to seek separate counseling to support their treatment. This video outlines their approach to maximizing the therapeutic benefits of the program.
Olivia discusses how ketamine targets the brain's glutamate system to promote neuroplasticity. This process helps patients cultivate greater emotional flexibility and move away from negative thought patterns.
Olivia addresses the common misconception that ketamine treatments are inherently dangerous. She explains how thorough patient screening and careful clinical monitoring ensure a high standard of safety.
Olivia shares some of the common experiences reported by patients, such as a sense of detachment, introspection, or deep relaxation. She emphasizes that there is no single right or wrong way to experience the therapy.
Jordan breaks down the eligibility criteria for patients aged 25 to 70 with treatment-resistant depression. She also walks through the initial steps for applying via their website.
Jordan explains the process of becoming a volunteer companion for patients undergoing treatment sessions. She details the straightforward onboarding steps required to join their welcoming environment.
The ketamine program at Euthyma was designed with the intention of reducing barriers to access patients with the most severe forms of treatment resistant depression.
In order to do this, we have performed a thorough review of the ketamine literature to identify the components of ketamine therapy that offer the highest potential impact, as measured by response and remission rates.
Instead of integrating ketamine therapy with counselling, we’ve opted to include worksheets that allow patients to set intentions and goals in a self-directed way. There is evidence, albeit limited, that this approach may be similarly effective to the conventional integrated approach.
The end result is that Euthyma is able offer ketamine treatments at a substantially lower cost and time commitment.
We also continuously evaluate all aspects of our program, and we have an ongoing commitment to improving through regular data analysis and revisions to our protocols based on careful consideration and anonymized collected data and patient/provider feedback.
This is one of the many qualities that makes Euthyma different, and we believe that our dedication to not only optimized ketamine therapy, but also advancement of our understanding of this therapy will help many patients living with depression in the years to come.

Ketamine at subanesthetic doses (like the ones used at Euthyma) attaches itself to certain receptors (including NDMA receptors) in the brain that effect glutamate signalling. Glutamate is the main excitatory neurotransmitter and is crucial for communication within the brain, creating memories, and neuroplasticity (the ability to create new thought pathways in the brain).
Ketamine also creates a dissociative effect for patients, separating the patient from themselves and their environment cognitively and emotionally. This effect can allow patients to reflect on their experiences, create new insights and gain clarity that can decrease depression.
These effects in combination create the rapid and highly effective anti-depressant effect seen in patients.
Most antidepressants work by increasing the levels certain neurotransmitters (typically serotonin, dopamine, and/or norepinephrine) that regulate and improve mood. However, not all depression is caused by a decrease in these neurotransmitters.
Ketamine affects different neurotransmitter pathways, creates a dissociative effect, and has an anti-inflammatory effect that in combination can create rapid and highly effective antidepressant effects.
Ketamine is used to treat treatment-resistant depression (TRD). TRD is defined as clinical depression that persists after two adequate trials of prescription antidepressants (typically at least 6-8 weeks per medication).
Ketamine is administered intramuscularly (by needle) in the upper arm, much like a flu shot. These ketamine doses are administered by trained Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) with on-call medical doctor supervision.
Yes, ketamine is safe for use of treating depression. The BC College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSBC) permit the use of subanesthetic doses of ketamine for the treatment of treatment-resistant depression (TRD).
Yes, ketamine is an effective method of treating TRD. Response rates are approximately 65% and remission rates approximately 35%.
Patients are considered to have responded to the ketamine treatment when they see at least a 50% reduction in their depressive symptoms, however; patients who do not see this degree of efficacy may still see benefits from ketamine treatment. Remission means that depressive symptoms have improved to the point that they are minimal or absent, allowing a return to normal or near-normal daily functioning. It is a higher standard than simply feeling better.
Euthyma is a physician-led organization, meaning our Medical Director is also our lead doctor who will approve patients for our program. Our team also includes our Patient Navigator who will be patients’ first point of contact and guide patients through our program. Our staff also includes our dedicated nurses who will be at each treatment session to provide treatment and ensure our patients’ safety and wellness.
Volunteers will also be present during treatment sessions to provide company and support for our patients. Our volunteers are NOT licensed mental health professionals and do NOT provide therapeutic services. Patients are not required to participate with volunteers.
Euthyma uses an eight (8) week treatment program, with treatments happening once per week for a total of eight (8) treatment sessions.
Treatment sessions typically take two (2) hours to complete, with the potential to extend longer depending on how each patient responds to the treatment.
